Don’t Wait to Feel Motivated. True Progress Comes From Taking Action.

Waiting to find the motivation to do something is almost a guarantee that you won’t make any progress.

We all have goals and ambitions that we desire to accomplish in life. But oftentimes, we wait to feel motivated before actually taking the steps necessary to complete the action items required to advance us closer to achieving those goals and ambitions.

The only problem with waiting for motivation to spark is that it never does.

Motivation is the Result of Action

The truth is, motivation isn’t something that just comes to you. And the longer you wait to feel motivated, the less interested you become in actually doing what you need to do.

The presumption is that when you feel motivated, you will take action. But it’s actually the opposite. When you take action, no matter how unmotivated you are to begin with, you will eventually become more interested and inspired by what you’re working on.

For example, I don’t necessarily want to write this post at the moment. It’s snowing outside, I have a cup of coffee next to me, and I’m sitting on the couch in my living room. I would much rather put something on the television and zone out for a few hours. To be honest, I was not motivated…
