It’s been said that instant gratification is the number one killer of hopes and dreams.

We live in a world where we post something online and receive an instant thumbs-ups. We’re constantly bombarded with advertisements that subconsciously convince us that health and fitness results come from swallowing a pill. And we’ve all seen the endless number of “fake gurus” out there that want us to believe that overnight success is highly probable (as long as you spend money on a course).

The promise of achieving anything worthwhile in a short time span is highly unlikely. Yet, over time, we have been conditioned to believe that whatever we desire should simply be handed to us, failing to recognize that any true accomplishments in life are the result of years of hard work and consistency.

We have come to expect that things should come to us quickly and effortlessly. And when we don’t receive the instant gratification that we’re after, we simply give up on whatever it is that we desire.

This is why so many ideas are never executed, goals are never reached, and true satisfaction and fulfillment are never achieved.
