It’s Always Too Early to Quit

You never know how close you are to achieving your dreams.

Tomorrow could be the day that your business takes off, you meet the love of your life, or the universe simply aligns in your favor and presents you with the life-changing opportunities or experiences that you desire.

But you’ll never know if you quit today.

I’ve always been driven by the idea that you don’t know how close you are to receiving that big break that will transform all facets of your life.

One more phone call. One more business meeting. One more blog post. One more social connection. At some point, all it takes is “one more” to tip the scales.

Unfortunately, you don’t know the precise moment everything will align. You don’t know precisely how you will find success.

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale was the one that said, “It’s always too early to quit.” He recognized that most often people don’t reach their goals, not because they don’t have the talent, resources, or ambition, but because they lack the necessary long-term commitment.

Everything happens in due time but quitting early robs us of the opportunity to see our efforts fully play out. And succumbing to any challenges or setbacks only proves that you won’t reach your goals.

I like how Winston Churchill once put it: “Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.”

In order to achieve greatness, you must possess resiliency and grit. But if you lack these two essential characteristics then you’ll never know what you may be capable of. You’ll never know what’s waiting for you right around the corner.

Consider what it is that you want to achieve in life.

What would happen if you decided to quit today?

What might happen if you don’t?
