The Unknown Makes Life Interesting

Life is a lot like magic. It’s mysterious, unpredictable, and, at the best of times, uncontrollably exciting.

But just like magic, when you know how the trick is done, the excitement is gone.

Life’s magic is what keeps our hearts beating and our souls yearning for more. It is the subtle fascination of the unknown that entices us to hold out for our next dose of spontaneity. It is life’s simple surprises that keep us hungry for more.

It is the unknown that keeps us in suspense.

One of Socrates’ most famous quotes is, “All that I know is that I know nothing.”

The wise philosopher found great wisdom in the fact that he was merely a young, bright-eyed student in the school of life. He embraced new opportunities to grow and learn, all while being conscious of the fact that there was infinitely more in store for him.

Unlike Socrates though, we tend to resist uncertainty. We shy away from the unknown and aim to avoid any discomfort. Yet, paradoxically, this is what makes life so great.

It is the unknown that makes life worth living, for if everything has been discovered then there will be nothing left to amuse you.

Stop looking for the meaning in everything.

Not every event or occurrence in your life needs to be analyzed to the point of no return. Just as your entire future does not need to be precisely determined.

As the saying goes, ignorance is bliss. And a little bit of innocence can make life worthwhile.

When everything is figured out, the magic wears off.

Continue to find excitement in the unknown.
