Writing is a true gift.

Your ability to evoke emotion by stringing words together is incredibly powerful.

With these words, you have the opportunity to educate, entertain, and empower others. You have the power to dramatically change someone’s life with your writing.

At its core, writing is a form of true expression. Great writing is personal and intimate. It’s real and raw.

As Seth Godin put it in a recent post, “Writing is designed to transcend time and space.” Great writing will always be appreciated and it will always exist to be seen by others.

Something you write today can influence and inspire someone else at some point in the future. Something you write today has the power to live forever.

But in order to develop the skill of writing, you have to go through the stages. You have to devote yourself to the art of writing and commit to learning how to properly articulate and convey your inner feelings and emotions.

Equally important, you have overcome your self-criticism and fear of judgment. You have to embrace your bad writing and know that every piece of writing you produce is helping you to become better and better.

In a world where communication and expression are becoming more and more rare, writing is more important than ever.

Start writing now and don’t stop. Give the world the gift of your writing.

Write until you’re no longer afraid to write.

This is post #5 on my 30-Day Challenge to improve my writing. Thanks for reading!
