Time.

It’s the one thing that we all need more of. The one thing that never ceases to stop.

If only we had more time during our day. We could finally get around to accomplishing everything on our to-do lists, all the items that are necessary for helping us move closer to achieving our goals.

The only problem is, there’s not enough time. Right?

You aren’t “too busy.” It’s just not that important to you.

Lately, I’ve found myself saying that I’m “too busy” far too often.

I tend to let my demanding day job serve as the reason why I don’t get around to tackling the various items that I know need to get done. Whether it’s writing a post, hitting the gym to get some daily exercise in, or simply doing some chores around the house, I’ve led myself to believe that my days are already fully occupied with limited free time available.

“Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.” — William Penn

I’ve never really given time management much consideration until recently. But I’ve really started to notice my lack of personal growth and it has caused me to reexamine how I spend my time.

I finally decided to get serious about looking at my daily schedule and how I can maximize my productivity. And to be honest, objectively evaluating my daily routine and how I spend my waking hours was somewhat of an eye-opening experience.

I found that I had plenty of spare time during my day. I just wasn’t utilizing it to my advantage.

There’s enough time in the day as long as you know how to use it properly.

While I was spending 8–10 hours per day working, I found that I was wasting many precious hours in the mornings and evenings that could have been highly productive. Even more, during my routine workday, I discovered that I was able to adjust my schedule to allow for gaps that could be used for more productive purposes, like writing or editing other content.

In other words, my schedule really wasn’t as chaotic as I thought it was. And chances are, yours isn’t either.

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.” — J.R.R. Tolkien

Proper time management is the key to maximizing your day. And those days that you can channel some strong inner productivity and focus are the days that are going to lead you closer to whatever it is you truly want to achieve.

Your time is precious. Don’t waste it.

There’s a million tips and tricks out there on how to be more productive. The first step is acknowledging that you aren’t, even when you feel like you are.

“A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.” — Charles Darwin

Life is too short to waste, and your time is your most valuable asset. Make time for what matters most and prioritize the activities that will have the greatest impact for you.

You’re not too busy. You have enough time.

Go make the most of it.
